Our gymnasium is already 29 years old. We want to share an overview of this road. Looking back, we see a checked and 100 percent proven strategy. On this basis, we can confidently continue to create a modern and up-to-date gymnasium.
The success of our graduates, who are currently studying or have already graduated from foreign universities indisputably proves the competitiveness of the educational and methodological potential of the gymnasium in Europe and the world.
We will continue to avoid the irresponsible change of untested, only attractive-sounding ideas or educational content.
All innovations are approved by the Methodical Council of the gymnasium only after a thorough analysis of EU statistical data and based on the experience of the universities of the Ivy League.
We are glad that we are seen as a reliable educational institution that does not experiment with children’s future and takes responsibility for the success of the first grader after 12 years spent with us.
We have proven in our experience that every child is capable, but every child is different. Our non-selective gymnasium creates the conditions for everyone to achieve the maximum individual result.
We are proud that we have made a significant contribution to the well-being of our city and the improvement of the quality of education in Lithuania:
we founded “Nykštuko” primary school. It was a Full Day School. These kinds of schools are now being created all over Lithuania.
we started teaching English from the age of 6. This was a novelty at the time. Now no one can even remember when all Lithuanian primary school children started learning a foreign language.
we introduced a subject system into our primary school.
Currently, only a few primary schools teach all subjects with one teacher.
we developed an information technology curriculum and started teaching this subject in primary school.
Now this is already done in the majority of elementary schools in Lithuania, and we entered the next stage 3 years ago. We are already programming!
“Nykštuko” primary school grew into “Saulės” secondary school.
we have introduced mandatory long-term practical research works, we have prepared a methodology for the performance, description and presentation of such works.
At present, such work is done by students of most schools. And this activity helps to prepare for mature work, which becomes part of VBE.
we supplemented the second foreign language state program and began its teaching earlier.
we introduced the practice of student counseling next to classroom education.
Now this is being done in most Lithuanian schools.
we started consistent additional education of gifted students after analysing the experience of Germany, Great Britain, and Israel.
Currently, Lithuania pays a lot of attention in all documents to the education of gifted children, because it is very important for a small nation.
“Saulės” secondary school was invited to the European Association of Private Schools. The school has a lot of communication and cooperation with educational institutions of foreign countries, joined international project activities and student exchange programs.
Our partner, England’s prestigious Kingswood College, has awarded one annual free scholarship to the best student at our school.
The order of the Minister of Education granted the right to provide secondary education.
we organized the international ECNAIS conference in Vilnius. For the useful cooperation and the preparation of the conference, the school director Irena Baranauskiene and the international relations coordinator Vida Sinkevičiene were given documents of grattitude of the ECNAIS council.
the school is 15 years old. After coordination with the Vilnius municipality, we planted an oak park in the area of Lūžiai.
the external audit highly rated the quality of education of “Saulės” private gymnasium. The auditors recognized as a unique achievement the real ability of the school to ensure the physical and psychological safety of students, the nurturing of students’ values, the flexible presentation of current educational content, and the ability to take into account the needs of each student in the educational process.
after accreditation, the school became a gymnasium.
in the gymnasium, personalized education and monitoring of individual student progress finally took root. Gymnasium specialists have developed a methodology for such education.
Now most Lithuanian schools pay a lot of attention to it.
the team of high school pedagogues started to create integrated student activity programs in foreign science centers and major European museums.
This innovation is already actively making its way in Lithuanian schools.
We are happy to have contributed to the development of the Good School concept. Because when in 2015 it was submitted to Lithuania, it was already implemented in “Saulė” private gymnasium.
Statements verified in the practice of “Saulė” private gymnasium were included in the state educational plans.
the high school’s individual integrated STEAM program for grades 1-12 was created and started to be consistently implemented.
This requires both expensive equipment and highly qualified specialists and other intellectual resources.
we put our accumulated experience into three books. We have published them and give them out for free at exhibitions and events.
we allocated additional hours to the second foreign language and revised the program again, taking into account the Council of Europe’s 2018 May 22nd recommendations. Lithuania is not doing anything about this yet!
we are proud of our high work culture, excellent academic results, hardworking students and teachers, parents guided by correct moral values, who constantly work together with teachers for the benefit of our children. This is the biggest secret of the success of “Saulės” gymnasium.
We are celebrating the 30th anniversary of Saulė Gymnasium. We can be proud that we have raised 19 generations of graduates who create great added value for society. These are specialists in various fields: teachers, doctors, pharmacists, artists, engineers, scientists, politicians, journalists, builders, businessmen. Having graduated from Lithuanian and foreign universities, they are creating a new Lithuania of the future.
The achieved harmony of academic, emotional and social education gives excellent results and provides great opportunities for students.
We firmly feel that we are participants in high-quality global education. We are glad that our graduates graduate from the gymnasium as mature civic personalities, patriots of Lithuania, who are not afraid to take responsibility for their own and others’ future.
We are glad that in 1994 the established school was and continues to be created not as a business enterprise! We strive to make quality education accessible to the largest possible part of society. Therefore, we have established scholarships for the best high school students. Values are very important to our community! We have worked and will continue to work for Lithuania. This is our duty and belief in the future of the homeland.
